This season, the football team is honoring John's memory by wearing a gold “JS” sticker on the back of their helmets.

John was a lifelong supporter of Cassville Schools, but wildcat football held a special place in his heart. From his playing days in the 1960s to the countless Thursday night team meals he provided and the many years he spent on the sidelines keeping stats, John was a special part of Wildcat football.

During the first home game of the season, Athletic Director Lance Parnell presented John’s wife, Janet, with a football helmet featuring the “JS” sticker in his memory.

John is deeply missed, but his legacy will always be part of Cassville R-IV.

And we sure do miss that unforgettable John Sullivan chuckle.
