FFA Hosts Annual Food for America Day to Educate Elementary Students

The Cassville FFA Chapter recently hosted its annual Food for America Day, an educational event designed to help elementary students learn about agriculture and the important role it plays in everyday life.
During the event, Pre-K through 3rd grade students explored animal products and by-products, discovering how everyday items such as clothing, food, and household goods come from animals raised on farms. Meanwhile, 4th and 5th grade students participated in hands-on sessions focused on equipment safety, archery, and turfgrass management, gaining insight into agricultural mechanics, recreation, and plant science.
More than 50 Cassville High School FFA members volunteered their time to lead presentations, demonstrations, and interactive activities for younger students throughout the day.
“Food for America Day gives our FFA members the opportunity to teach and inspire the next generation,” said Corbin Rhoads, Cassville FFA Committee Chairman. “It’s awesome to see high school students step up as role models and show elementary students how agriculture impacts every part of their lives.”
The Cassville FFA Chapter is proud to continue this long-standing tradition of agricultural education and community outreach within Cassville Public Schools, helping students make real-world connections between classroom learning and the agricultural industry.
